Specials, News & General stuff

Hello all my faithful readers…Mum, Gran, Great Aunty Maude…ha ha. Just kidding I don’t have a great Aunty Maude.

I just wanted to pop in a little post to remind any of you that are interested that Stampin’ Up! are generously offering the Simply Sent card Kits at 20% off for 4 days from the 4-8th of October!!  See online Catalogue here.  You can place orders with me at madonnadunn@aapt.net.au up until 12noon on Monday 8th.

WCMD is going ahead on Saturday.  If you are interested there are still positons available.  Again you can contact me on the above address.  It starts at 2pm.

The big news (incase you were wondering) is that my web address will be changing in the very near future.  I am in the process (I’m using the royal I, it’s actually my BIL Adam & SIL Carmel doing all the hard work! Bless them!) of creating a web page.  It will have the capacity to have a gallery, newsletter & feeds to update you on when I update my posts.  So I will let you all know when that changes & you can head on over there for a peek!

I will be running my next SAS on Tuesday 16th of October & there are still places available if you are interested.  The themes are Children & Masculine.  When the cards are ready (& knowing me that’s probably gonna be the 15th!) i’ll post some pics.  I’m also thinking of hosting a Scrap Basket night.  For $10 you can come and make your own designs using the scraps in my basket.  I will provide 10 bases, all the stamps, ink & tools to create your own masterpieces (and some ribbon as well).  Post a comment if you are interested in attending. :-)

I have a few new projects but can’t post them until the recipients have received them so until next time, Happy Stamping!

Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel, Whisper White & Very Vanilla

Ink: Chocolate Chip or Basic Brown (not sure which for the words & cup etc), Creamy Caramel & Versamark

Accessories: Taupe Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals to lift the Cup etc, Hodgepodge Hardware.

Hope you like it :-)

Wet Flower Fest

FlowerFest Watercolour

Some of you may recognise this card!  Hi Girls!  This was the other card we Created at Tuesdays Stamp A Stack.  There are a couple of different techniques used on this card.  Before I get into that though, I just want to say my camera is broken :-( so all cards etc now have to be scanned and I’m a scanning gumby so I’m apologising for the quality of the picture!  Hopefully it won’t take too long for the camera to come back!

So, the details.  The base is an A5 Whisper white card folded in half.  The other card-stock colours are Old Olive, Basic Black & Real Red.  Ink used is Rose Red, Real Red & Old Olive.  White Organdy & Faux Brads.  The stamping is a technique called Wet Water-colouring where you spritz your card-stock with water prior to stamping the image.  This one could have been a little wetter to get the more watercolour look but I’m still happy with the result.  The Faux Brads are made by punching out 1/4″ circle from Basic Black, adhering to the card-stock and then using Crystal Effects to give them the raised solid look.  I prefer that they are shiny and raised.  It does take some patience waiting for them to dry and not touching.  If you do touch too early you’ll have some lovely faux brads with a fingerprint pattern!! :-)

Here is another done a little differently as a square card 6×6″.  It’s going in the post to a special friend today! (oohh I wonder…..shhh)

Gift Organiser

Gift Organiser

This is a Gift Organiser that I Cased from Chris Gontarz @ Image is Everything.  I’ve changed a few things and made it a little different but that’s where the original inspiration came from.  I have seen a few others done in a Christmas theme as well.  The base of the organiser is an A4 Manilla envelope trimmed and folded to form the pockets.  I just made it up as I was going along (I know, not like me at all!).  I’ve used Office Accoutrement Stamp Set from the Mini along with the Little Reminders Accents & Elements and Notations double-sided paper.  Most of the supplies have come from the Spring Mini.  I love it all!!  Inside is a birthday book where you can record who’s birthday is in which month etc and a notepad.  I thought of also adding an address book and perhaps even a pen or some stamps for birthday cards to be sent.  The opportunities to make this your own are endless, it’s only ever limited to your own imagination! :)   If you’d like to see more photos, let me know.

On another note, I cannot believe that my little blog has had over 2000 hits.  I know that it’s small fry in comparison to some, but when I started it in June I thought it would take a long time for 3 people to get me to 100 hits let alone 2000!  So, for all of you who do read it thank you.  I would love to hear from you so leave me a comment, it would be great to know who you are.

Blooming Umberellas

Simply Umbrellas

Oh i’m so slack in not posting for so long!  I will have some new and wonderful (well it’s all in the eyes of the beholder!) things when I can remember to a)charge the batteries on my camera & b) take some photos in the daylight.  I may make that my mission this weekend!  This card was from a sketch I had copied off SCS.  I am a little in love with these colours at the moment!  Isn’t it funny how your tastes change?  When I joined SU! I got all the Earth Element colours and was so sure that was my style.

I sent this card to a fellow demonstrator.  It was my first attempt at ‘faking it’ with stitching.  (So don’t look too closely).  This will be one of the cards we will make at my SAS next Tuesday night.  Interested?

Cardstock: Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, Taken with Teal, Cool Carribean

Ink: Basic Black, Taken with Teal, Rich Regal WCW Crayons.

Stamps: Hostess Blooming with Happiness, Simply Said

Accessories: Aqua Painter, Tag Punch, White Gel Pen, Paper Piercer.

If you are interested in attending any of my classes/Stamp A Stacks, I will be running them regularly on every second Tuesday evening from 7.30.  Please feel free to contact me for details.  We have a great evening & new or experienced cardmakers most welcome!

World Card Making Day Event

The 4-8th of October sees Stampin’ Up! celebrating World Card Making Day with events all around Australia & the Globe!!  How exciting is that??!  As a sponsor of this event Stampin’ Up! are offering a generous 20% off any Simply Sent kit from 4-8 October.  If you don’t have a catalogue you can view the kits online here.  If you would like to order one of these kits please contact me on 0414366640 or madonnadunn@aapt.net.au.

WCMD Display

For WCMD I am hosting an event at Rosewood Community Kindergarten in Toowoomba on the 6th of October.  It will run from 2pm-4pm and bookings are essential.  We will be making 4 cards & 1 box for an entry fee of $10.  All of the entry fees & profits from the day (including my own commission) will go towards Rosewood’s fund-raising efforts to secure new premises for the Kindergarten.  Katelin attended there last year & Thomas will be heading there next year.  Kindergartens are an essential step in your child’s early learning journey & if you are able to come along to support Rosewood you will be helping an educational facility that is vital to the future of our Children! (I’ll hop down off my soap box now!!)

I’ve included photos of the projects we will be completing!  If you would like any more details on them please feel free to contact me.

Stamping, Scrapping & a little Procrastination

Well i’m actually supposed to be getting my stuff together to do some workshops this weekend but considering I have a loyal fan base of 1 (Hi Melissa G!) who can’t possibly wait to see my next fantastmagorical creations, I thought i’d better post something. LOL.

This is a scrap page I did of Kaela’s 3rd Birthday Party.  Forgive the poor photo quality of this layout.  I will blame the camera but i’m sure we all know it was the operator! I love the main image of Kaela & Tommy together – hence the title of this page!

Scrapbooking with Stampin’ Up

Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Pretty in Pink, Tempting Turquoise, DS Petals & Paisley Designer Paper (I love it & can’t stop using it!!)

Ink: Black Stampin’ Up! Marker

Stamps: Oh I just realised there isn’t any stamping on this!!

Accessories: On Board Accents, Corner Rounder Punch, Sanding Blocks, Adhesives.

This next card was sent out as a birthday wish to a gorgeous fellow demonstrator & I can post because she has received it, although I don’t even know if she visits this blog so that would make the point moot wouldn’t it? Hmm nevermind…shall I just get on with it?

Scribble This Happiness

Cardstock: Whisper White, Rose Red, Regal Rose and Taken with Teal

Ink: Black Staz on, Rose Red.  I used Rich Regal Water colour Crayons & Aqua Painter to colour.

Stamps: Scribble This, Warm Words

Accessories: Slit Punch for corners, Oval Punch, Aqua Painter & Dimensionals.

Righto, that should keep my fans (laugh, cough, choke) happy for a few days!!  I do have other things to upload but it’s late i’m so far from ready it’s not funny & i’ve procrastinated enough.  Not like me at all LOL!

Altered Tin Class

The Girls & their Tins

These are my girlfriends & their magnificent tin creations.  Left to right is Cass, Natonya, Nel & Anastasia.  Everyone used the Double Sided Petals & Paisley Designer Paper from the Stampin’ Up! Spring Mini Catalogue & each tin was very different.

If you are interested in attending a class to make your own tin masterpiece then please contact me on madonnadunn@aapt.net.au.

Commisioned Diorama Card Case

Stampin’ Up! Wild about You

Stampin’ Up! Wild About You

This card is a shameless CASE of Yvonne’s card here.  A good friend (Hi Nat!) sent me through a picture of Yvonne’s & asked me to reproduce it as an anniversary card.  You may not be able to see but i’ve put a pocket on the back with a seperate piece of cardstock for her message to be a bit more private.

Cardstock: Old Olive, Sahara Sand, Chocolate Chip, Buckeroo Blue, Whisper White.  Ink: Old Olive, Marigold Morning, Buckeroo Blue.  I’ve used the Pumpkin Pie & Really Rust SU! Markers to colour the Lion.

I’ve got a stack of pictures to upload to my page so hopefully i’ll be able to get to that over the next couple of days.  I have the Altered Tin Class this evening and then nothing for a couple of weeks so I should be able to update a little more regularly.
